American Machine Gunners, carrying 2 BAR's.

The Machine Gunner (or two Machine Gunners for the United States and Commonwealth) carry heavy, fully automatic weapons that can devastate enemy infantry with a large burst. With high rate of fire, large ammo clip capacity, these suppressive guns are the stronghold of defensive lines, and a deadly threat to infantry units.

Commonwealth[]

  • Weapons: 2 Bren LMG's
  • Grenades: none
  • Tools: Sandbags
  • Cost: 6
  • Effective Against: Infantry
  • Vulnerable Against: Armored vehicles, artillery, snipers
  • Overview: The Bren light machine gun has a slow rate of fire accompanied by a small ammo capacity, but because the British Machine Gunner has two guns, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

United States[]

  • Weapons: 2 BAR's
  • Grenades: none
  • Tools: Sandbags
  • Cost: 6
  • Effective Against: Infantry
  • Vulnerable Against: Armored vehicles, artillery, snipers
  • Overview: The BAR has exceptional range, and for the Americans, two of them are present in a Machine Gun squad. The low ammo capacity is countered by fast reloading. The advantage of two machine guns means you can pin down infantry units twice as much and can even total other machine gunners.

France[]

  • Weapons: 1 FM 24/29 LMG
  • Grenades: 1 Frag grenade, 1 Anti-tank grenade
  • Tools: Sandbags
  • Cost: 5
  • Effective Against: Infantry
  • Vulnerable Against: Armored vehicles, artillery, snipers
  • Overview: The French FM24/29 is not capable of firepower like its counterparts, but deploying these guns in mass numbers around 'highways' can destroy infantry targets from a safe range.

Germany[]

  • Weapons: 1 MG42
  • Grenades: 1 Frag grenade, 1 Anti-tank grenade
  • Tools: Sandbags
  • Cost: 5
  • Effective Against: Infantry
  • Vulnerable Against: Armored vehicles, artillery, snipers
  • Overview: Carrying German military excellence, the German Machine Gunner can unload 1200 bullets a minute, supported by decent reload time, firepower and range. Supporting them with other infantry is crucial for the survival of the Machine Gunner.

Japan[]

  • Weapons: 2 Type 99 LMG's
  • Grenades: none
  • Tools: Sandbags
  • Cost: 6
  • Effective Against: Infantry
  • Vulnerable Against: Armored vehicles, artillery, snipers
  • Overview: Almost identical to the Bren LMG, the Type 99 can be used to thin out enemy infantry squads before they do harm. They can be used to form defensive lines in trenches or artillery positions.

Soviet Union[]

  • Weapons: 1 DP-27 LMG
  • Grenades: 1 Frag grenade, 1 Anti-tank grenade, 1 Molotov cocktail
  • Tools: Sandbags
  • Cost: 5
  • Effective Against: Infantry
  • Vulnerable Against: Armored vehicles, artillery, snipers
  • Overview: Possibly the most unreliable machine gun in the game, the DP-27 uses a quick-reloading drum magazine that boasts horrible accuracy and range. At close range, it can concentrate fire on many enemy units at once. The Russian Machine Gunner should not be an immobile defensive piece, but should support other infantry movements.
